Kimia Farma is the company's first pharmaceutical industry in Indonesia which was established by the Dutch government in 1817. The name of this company was originally a Chemicalen NV Handle Rathkamp & Co. The discretion of the nationalization of the former Dutch companies in the early days of independence, in 1958, the Government of the Republic of Indonesia do smelting number of pharmaceutical companies into PNF (the State Pharmaceutical Company) Unity Kimia Farma. Then on August 16, 1971, the legal status of the PNF is converted into a limited company, so the company name changed to PT Kimia Farma (Persero).
